Faberge easter egg nails 1After contemplating Easter nails for quite a while a totally new idea has emerged. We wanted to do something elegant that even those of us who for whatever reason aren’t up for drawing cute rabbits could do for their Easter nails.  We also wanted to express some of the tradition behind Easter in these nails.

So we created Faberge Easter Eggs nails. Fabergé eggs were jeweled eggs made in Russia by the House of Faberge from 1885 to 1917 and were popular gifts at Easter. Often bejeweled with diamonds and made of precious metals, needless to say, they are/were incredibly expensive too. We’ve translated one of the more traditional Faberge egg patterns in gold and dark blue onto our nails!

Want to know how to do these? Scroll down for a quick how-to.

HOW TO:

1. Apply 2 coats of dark blue polish. Let it dry.
2. Use gold striping tape to create a crisscross pattern on each nail.
3. Position the studs and secure them with a clear top coat.
4. Apply 2-3 layers of fast drying top coat to finish your manicure.

Used: Revlon Top Speed 730 Royal, gold striping tape and studs, Essie To Dry For top coat.

Note: Faberge Easter Egg nails require patience and some skill. Both of the nail art techniques used to create these nails are explained in detail with step-by-step pictorial tutorials in our nail art book. So if you’d like to learn how to execute them flawlessly with a professional finish our book is for you.
